Youth Health Forum Submission to the Productivity Commission’s Inquiry into Mental Health

Following the meeting of more than 50 young advocates in late September, 2018 at the Consumer Health Forum of Australia’s Inaugural Youth Health Forum (YHF) to discuss, identify, and generate solutions to the challenges that young people face now and in the future - a select group of four advocates, including myself, have authored a submission on behalf of the YHF to the Australian Productivity Commission’s ongoing Mental Health Inquiry.

Our submission details key areas that require immediate improvement, and presents a list of key recommendations which are realistically actionable, and will improve the health and well-being of young Australians. These areas which can be improved on reflect the most common and notable concerns and issues raised by attendees.

This submission is a compelling call-to-action from the mouths and minds of a group of young leaders in youth advocacy, and I encourage you to read the full submission.

The full submission can be found at https://www.pc.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0019/241057/sub404-mental-health.pdf
